Out Now: CONGRESSMAN DAVY
It is a very exciting day for this dramatist. And for any subscriber to Stage Write involved as a performer or supporter in my latest project.
The soundtrack to Congressman Davy – a musical I have written with Dean Schlabowske of the Waco Brothers – is out today on CD, as a digital download, and on multiple streaming platforms.

I have been researching and writing and recording Davy for 12 years now. It is a story that has repaid all the labor required to tell it. The chance to write this show with Dean has been so satisfying. As you will hear on the soundtrack, his immense talents shine on this records. Dean excelled in blending the melody and energy of his own work to the necessity of conveying a broadly-resonant narrative involving many characters in song. I am very lucky to have him as a partner.
When challenges emerged along the way, good people lifted up the work. The performers at a small workshop we held at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop in February 2024 and at our full staged reading at DC's fabled True Reformer Building in November 2024 let us know that we had a show that worked. My gratitude to Capital Fringe Festival founder Julianne Brienza for rescuing the latter show is eternal.
And the donors who helped make the soundtrack possible? A number of you are on this list, and it has been an absolute joy getting CDs and swag into the mail. Asking for help in 2026 is tough. So all of the folks on our Thank Yous page are heroes to me.
Today is not the only big day in June 2026 for Congressman Davy, however. Stayed tuned for a radio play version of the entire show that will debut on June 29, 2026.
As Davy would say: "Just go ahead and listen!"
